Drove around the Yucatan peninsula about 10 years ago, mainly Chichen itza and Coba, in a rental. Wouldn't do it today...

K-A should go across state lines once in a while...and stay away from his Rambo friend!

Franko, you better step up here. Gotta deliver the goods (not talking smuggling anything here).

I rode through Mexico and my experience was amazing. Not in a Porsche though.

I invite you all to drive through downtown Baltimore MD, Detroit MI, Camden NJ, St. Louis MO, etc, etc, etc... Angry people with a lot of hate and resentment, they will hurt you just to feel good about themselves or for street cred.

Nobody is attacking you in Mexico, safer than USA. Just mind your own business. Nobody is going to steal your Porsche, they wouldn't know what to do with it.
And I'm down!

It was an entertaining read that's for sure! Way to go Franko, I'm a huge fan of Mexico and it's kind of sad the stereotype that has been associated with it, it's quite ignorant to think a whole country is DANGEROUS!!!

Glad to see one of my favorite threads here back from the dead! @Franko T , any new pics of your 911 in the gorgeous Mexican scenery or other pics from your adventures down there? I agree with several of the others, most of Mexico isn't any more dangerous than the US. Both Mexico and the US have places you should avoid with flashy stuff, and places where you need to be smart and aware of your surroundings. I personally wouldn't drive my 911 in Mexico, but that's more a function of the quality of the roads in the areas where I like to hang out down there (I could barely get a Jeep Wrangler up the driveway of the last house we had down there.) More power to the people like Franko T that do bring them down there and document it for us to all enjoy!

Only the parts that border the U.S. The biggest crooks are the local police, federalis can mess your _ _ _ _ up if you act a fool. I personally have been robbed by local police a handful of times and basically got kidnapped, robbed and extorted once by local police.

State of Q.R is relatively safe and a great place to visit. One of my favorite places in the world. Been pulled over there once for something I was at fault for. Completely different experience with the police over there vs the border towns/states.
