Default 800 Miles, Comments and Pictures 991.2 Carrera 4S

I sold my Audi R8 V10 Spyder last year and ordered a 991.2 Carrera 4S after quite a bit of research and driving several .2 models in different configurations. Although I have to shift early (4k rpm) for break in purposes and after logging about 800 miles to this point the car is nothing short of amazing. I now understand the glowing reviews, it's seriously difficult to find any faults with this car, it's extremely well rounded and does everything effortlessly well while being a absolute blast to drive.

Having said that, I have found a couple of issues, granted I am stretching to complain about them. My first, the emergency brake-it sometimes engages on it's own when I'm moving the car around my garage, i.e. I put it in park(with it running) get out to move other cars and when I get back in, and put it back in drive the parking brake is activated. My second and only other complaint is the road noise on certain pavement can be a little louder than what I was use to in the R8, although some of that I attribute to the wide 325/25/21 rear tires I am running. Again both issues are barely worth mentioning.

I am really looking forward to getting the car fully broken in so that I can enjoy it to its full potential. My wife took a few pictures on our drive today.

Beautiful. The widebody always looks fantastic. Not surprising about tire noise -- 325's are an awful lot of meat in the back.

That's a feature.

Anytime you open the door, with the car running (obviously in "P"), then the emergency brake is activated automatically.

Safety feature.

Ahhh, makes sense. Now I know why it happens only after I get out. Thanks!

Congrats on a nice car. I've got about 1200 miles on my .2 C4Sand the park brake went on only once as described above. I thought I had a gremlin. Thanks for the info.

21 inchers huh? How's the ride quality?

The ride quality is surprisingly great. Really not much different from the stock 20"s.

Thanks for the compliment. I must have looked over hundreds of wheels before deciding on these. They are PUR model RS08, 21x9.0 ET44 front and 21x12.5 ET 52 rear. They are monoblock forged which makes them very light(lighter than stock)as well as strong.

Scott Robertson is the contact at PUR, great guy to work with. They are a Canadian company, his contact info is: 1.604.279.5563

The car looks great, and the concavity of those wheels is superb! Nice choice.
