Default Michelin PA4

im driving my 991.2 C2S as a DD and for the 1st time a put on a set of winter tires. PA4s on my stock spider rims with stock size in front and 295/30/20 in the rears.

Living in the northeast, the winters are very up and down as it pertains to tempurature and precipitation. One day it's 25 degrees with flurries, next it's 32 with snow, next uts 50 degrees and sunny, and then in the 40s with rain.

Having spent many many winters with 911 s, I never put winter tires on and always made due with the standard summer rubber.

Im so happy I did this year. These tires are amazing in cold, wet, freezing rain, snow, etc.... I have no worries about getting home or to safety in any weather, the ride is great, and the performance limits are higher than I will ever approach on public roads. I will keep the PA4s on until the end of march and switch back to the Pirelli PZeros at that time.

These cars are really no issue issue with snow or cold weather with the proper tires.

Glad im not parking and hibernating for the winter and feeling completely safe driving the 911.

Agreed - I have Michelin Pilot Sport Alpins on my Cayman, and they're terrific in cold, wet, and/or snowy weather!

+1. I have PA4s on my 991.1 GTS. No problem at all in any conditions except for deep snow (and that's because of clearance, not grip).

Put my winter tire set on in November - driving it all through the winter. Too much fun to keep hidden away in my garage!

Took delivery of my car Dec 12th. After a long 3 mile drive dropped of to get some work done before I put some miles on it. Can't say how great the tires will be but looking forward to daily driving with the winter set. Will be picking up on Tuesday.

I live in SW Colorado, between the high desert and higher mountains. Almost any time of year I am within a few hours of warm weather and dry roads or snow and ice, sometimes on the same trip.

I also believe in true winter tires, but worry about extended hours on the highway when temps might be in the 70's. Any comments?

Running in 70 degree temps would not be good with winter tires. Optimally, they should be kept below 40 degree temps. I spoke to TireRack and a Michelin customer relations person and asked that exact question because we have had quite a few warm days in NJ this winter season.

The answer was was no worries as long as you are t flogging the car in high temps. When temp is warm, winter tires sacrifice a lot of dry grip and wear rapidly if pushed hard. During winter stay 8/10ths or below and wear rate won't be an issue.
