PEC pick up
Hello everyone. I need some help. Planning on picking up my car end of June in Atlanta at the center and driving back to philly. So what do I do,fly in night before or that morning then when do I leave that day or next. Or do I leave and stop on way back and where should I checkout on way back. I heard there are some great bbq places on way back. Where do I stay and are there any beach areas to go on way back. Any help I would appreciate. Thanks

airport is next to porsche, plenty of hotels w/in couple of miles. Personally, I would come at nite, stay at a hotel. Pick up first thing and see center for a few hrs, etc, and leave by the end of the day. I would go north of atl and get into the mountains. Do some adventure driving. Go toward asheville/3-4 hrs away.

If you're only destination while it ATL is the PEC then stay at the Airport Westin like someone suggested above. If going midtown, try the Ritz or the Westin there. Skip the Marriott. Service is sub par compared to the other two. I travel to ATL four times a month.

Just to pile on;
Near the PEC - Renaissance and The Westin. Both are a 6 to 8 minute cab ride. The Hilton is a little beat up I think. The Renaissance is almost walking distance (but I wouldn't). Nowhere near the airport is really a 'lets go out for a walk and meet the locals' kind of place.
Midtown (downtown is a dump and Buckhead is a little far, unless you want to travel a little further). Four Seasons, Loews or The W. Great area and plenty of stuff to walk to. 20 minute $35 flat fare ride to airport and PEC. All of these hotels will arrange a black car for you.
I live here, and am an unwilling connoisseur of the airport hotels

I stayed in the Best Western across the street from PEC in July 2015. It was not the Ritz but it satisfied my needs since I was there to do the Driving Experience and not party. On the day of my Experiience, I parked my 2015 991 GTS at places adjecent to the front door. After spending the day driving GT3 and Turbo, we ate in the 356 restaurant and toured the collection. We enjoyed everything and nothing happened to my GTS parked at the PEC or at the Best Western. If you need to be stroked before you do the PEC, by all means stay at The Ritz, Four Seasons or the new hotel they are building on the PEC property. I was treated very civilly by Brian Cunningham at PEC. Have a great time!
