2 GTS or 4GTS?

basic rule of thumb on porsche 2wd vs 4wd on 911's ----->
4wd = 2wd plus 175-200 pounds front end weight, heavier/muted steering feel...
4wd cars thus accelerate slower, provide more grip in slippery conditions, have less 'tossable' handling

^ It's only about a 100lb difference on the 991. The way I look at it is compared to my build, a 2GTS with PDK, PDCC and 18 way seats weighs about the same as my 4GTS with manual, 4 ways, and no PDCC.

Three Wheelin'
The 991.2 is reportedly the first 991 for which the 4/4S accelerates faster to 60 than the comparable 2/2S. It's even quoted as such on the Porsche website. Arguably, no one would be able to detect the .1sec that Porsche quotes. Regardless, to say that the 2 wheel drive versions are faster than the 4WD versions is erroneous.

Although not GTS's, I just finished a back to back drive at Porsche of Colorado Springs of a C2 vs a C4, both 2017 models.
The C2 was a bit more playful and nimble in tight corners, the C4 a bit more planted with the extra weight over the front axle.
My salesperson Kirk Macklem had an interesting observation. He said that a person new to driving Porsche's would find the C4 more accessible and reassuring. However since traction is not an issue for you why spend an extra $7000 for extra weight?
Coming from driving a 997 C2 and now a 991 GT3 I preferred the C2. However if I valued the traction of the C4, I would not hesitate to buy it.

True - I think some feel that the front driveshaft adds a little more feedback, particularly with the electronic steering. But I bet most would not feel a notable difference in back to back drives.

Sorry. My mistake. The 2 GTS is every bit as good if not better than the 4 GTS, if for sunny day blasts.

With great weather and a great driver RWD will always be fastest around a track. Average or poor weather or driver, AWD will be faster.

Went for a 2wd. My current is 4wd and to be honest I bet I could not tell the difference when i get it.
I have selected rear axle steer though as I have heard good reports.
