Default 991.2 S vs 991.2 GTS

So I am going to order a new 991.2 next year and have been playing with the configurator. Now that the GTS is on it I decided to configure a GTS to match my S.

Right now, to order the S that I want I am at $131,905.

If I build a GTS the same way it comes out to $142,250. (No Alcantera No GTS interior, No SD exterior)

For the extra $10,345 I get CL wheels (which I don't really want), CF interior trim, black exhaust tips, a GTS sticker on the door, 30 more HP, and wider hips.

If I add the CF trim to the S the price difference is $8,355 or $1990 less which is exactly what the CF trim costs. So even though the CF trim is included in the GTS package, Porsche is not discounting it.

Even the Sport Design exterior is not included with the GTS, it cost an additional $1500 if you want those bumper covers and rear.

Fun little comparison, of course YMMV depending on options.

Its a pretty tough choice. The hips on the GTS do look pretty amazing.

The sport design option on the configurator for the GTS is a bit misleading. The whole "look" front bumper, rear wing is $4,490 for the S configurator and on the GTS when you look at the info tab it only shows the rear wing. I am going to assume that the option shown on the gts configurator is for the rear wing only.

If you can overlook the power bump you can get loaded S for $131k which includes all the essentials full leather, 14 way seats, premium pack plus + pdls, sport pack, burmester, and CF interior including shift ****. Something similar in the GTS trim you are looking at $141.5k which is 991.1 GT3 pricing or for another 5-10k more you're in the highly discounted 991 turbo range.

Tough choice. My guess is once you see the GTS in person you will probably want it.

I'm noticing my 991.1 GTS value holding strong as the pricing reality of the 991.2 GTS is clearly higher than expected when all added options pile up. This model is getting quite close to TT pricing.

I can only speak from 991.1 land, but I love the rwd-widebody combo on my GTS.

Yeah, except it's not, at least not with similar options. And that's assuming you could even get one for MSRP. And when you compare it to the .2 GT3 about to be released, there will still be a sizable gap for similarly optioned cars. Which there should be, given what the GT3 offers over the GTS.

Those wheels just don't look right on the wide body GTS IMO. I don't understand why they don't offer more wheel options on the GTS. I think they must really want people to spec the CLs.

I get $149.5k on my GTS spec, which is ridiculous.

agreed! ... at least if you spec the 5-lug you can find a nice AM set ... I personally like the CLs ... having said that the 1st thing I did was replace my
CLs with Forgelines so go figure!

$149.5 .. ha bargain - I re-spec'ed my .1 GTS cab this morning on the
configurator - came out as $164,xxx!

5-lugs..one of the reasons I purchased this particular 15 GTS cab. Was in Houston over the weekend and spotted a C2S Cab with same color combo as mine. That said, really like the WB look on these cars so...go for it I've noticed some are on the fence regarding the alcanatara...I love the way it holds this old body in the seat and glad mine came with the leather sport steering wheel. I'm not so sure about the SD package. When I read the info it indicates that the $1500 is for front and rear. So maybe it is discounted when you buy the GTS? But to your point, the $1500 does sound just about right for just the rear "wing."

For me it IS a very tough choice. When I started this thread this morning I thought no f'ing way would I pay for the GTS. Now, I'm not so sure.

I know I could order the GTS with 5 spoke and even though I am not a fan of the CL, I think a GTS and GT3 etc... actually NEED the CL wheel. However, having said that I suppose I could say the same about Alcandera but I definitely do not want that and my spec'd GTS has all leather.

One thing that makes them more appealing to me is that they are available in silver.

So S or GTS - truly a first world problem.

The GTS is certainly the premium vehicle over the S. Who cares about the interior when you get 30 hp and wide body. Go get it !!

When I spec the GTS vs my S- like for like, the GTS is 6 k more. However, if I was ordering the GTS, I would get the GTS package, sports design, etc and it ended up 18 K more!

My 17 C4S has the same wide body I believe, can anyone verify if the same ? But for the money C4S can be had with many options cheaper.

When I price out an S like I would want, it is around $140k. The GTS...well over $150k. I think you might be on to something. There may be some sticker shock with the new GTS...
