this means no gt3 for me

Well I can always solve this problem with a gt4

I ended up ordering a TT for a street car with plans to get my track thrills by renting a local Spec Boxster and starting a Spec Cayman build or something along those lines in a year or two.

If I had a GT3 I'd want to track it heavily, and frankly even ignoring the potential safety concerns, at this point we can't comfortably afford to pay out of pocket for an on-track accident in a new GT3 so I think I'd be barking up the wrong tree. For light track use (maybe 6 DEs a year) event insurance could be enough for it to make sense, but for heavy use I'd be more comfortable and probably have more fun just renting a race car in the short term and trailering my own in the long term.

99% of the 991.1 GT3's are second hand. The whole point was explaining what other 911's are available today in the $140k segment. Great points but you missed the whole idea.

Bumping a 2 year old thread... But currently, the average price of 991.2 GTS' seems to be around $110k depending on miles... I'm seeing C2S and C4S for around the ~$80s across the US. I'm torn on whether I need to spend 30k extra for a few more hp and other goodies, but I am patient, will travel and will take my time finding the right 991.2...

So my questions are-- will the 991.2 GTS prices come down along with C2S & C4S further with the release of the 992? How much would you guys expect? When would be a good time to buy, and what's the bottom price these cars will hit? I was surprised to see that even 991.1 S's are still easily in the 60-70k range...

When the new 992 GTS is available for purchase, the prices will start to move downwards.

After 6 months of general availability of 992 GTS, that is when the "bottom" prices will hold.

Not necessarily. In this case, there should be a wider gap between GTS and C2S/C4S as 992 has been out for a while. C2S is currently ~10% cheaper than the GTS (on the German market at least). Which is not a deviation out of the "normal" price gap. What is more likely is that when the GTS and GT models are released and let's say people really like what Porsche has done then we could see a price drop for the whole 991.2 series and so forth. But in general 991.2 = old and 992 = new. Based on prices I believe this has already been priced in and GTS would be a good buy
