FWIW, I ordered it too. But, in the grand scheme of things, it's a very minor piece that really is frivolous...certainly not worthy of a 3-page discussion. Now 4, WTF

It's $545 or so now - only comes as a package with key painted exterior color.

To my knowledge, which is clearly limited, Porsche fuel fill-up has always been passenger side.

My TechArt 993TT has the fuel filler on the driver's side. Believe it was moved on the 996 for purely aesthetic purposes.

Not on my old 993 (1997). Made it hard to get close to the pumps, and still be able to get out of the car. I like the passenger side set-up best.

Guess I'll plead old or not yet enough coffee this AM

Thought it was passenger side on all my Porsche's including both my '87 911 & '97 993.

I'm glad Porsche got rid of the silly black vinyl fuel filler flap. One less thing I have to detail with 303 Aerospace.

This is RL, dig deep enough in the archives and you most likely find a mutipage thread on the way you are spose to have the Prosche crest point in the center of the wheels. Being OCD, I just went out to the garage, the back left wheel on the 981 has it pointing away from the filler cap!! That could explain why that car is pulling to left a wee-bit. I'll fix that this PM.

My biggest regret is I don't have enough cash for a second and my first one has not arrived yet. Its a sickness I deal with. I want a GTS Targa now.

haha I was picking up my GTS Targa in Europe and already thinking of a .2 GT3 if it's offered in stick. Never enough coin or garage space.
