For those with Sport Chrono and PSE, in Individual Mode, can you select sport mode (for throttle and chassis) select PSE on, but deselect "backfire" and "deselect sound symposer" for the cabin? In other words, what settings are available in Individual mode as it relates to PSE? I'd like to be able to have an Individual mode setup that is all "Sport" settings, but minus the backfire. Possible?

Weird. I wonder what this chart in the 2017 Owner's Manual is referring to under "Individual Mode" settings. I guess it means you have to pick one of the modes (Normal, Sport, Sport Plus) and the settings that come along with them plus the additional checked boxes showing?

But you can't select sport in Individual mode and sport plus for the exhaust to get rid of the pops while diving in Sport Mode, correct? That is what I am getting at; even in Individual mode, you can' get rid of the pops unless the driving mode is sport plus. Do I have it right?

With sport chrono and PSE on 991.2, Normal or Sport Plus = no pops.
Sport mode = pops.

That's what I thought. I had hoped there was some control over the pops in "Individual Mode, but I see that there isn't. So maybe there will be a coding solution at some point for those who'd prefer to do without the manufactured backfire sounds. They don't sound all that random.

Not much experience with P cars as I just picked up a 991.2 with sport package this week.
I do have a lot of experience with V8's, turbo and supercharged cars from past ownership. In most of them, I either changed the exhaust, mufflers, inserted a golf tee to open valves or bought a remote to operate a mild to wild switch. I believe that sound feedback aids in the overall driving experience of a performance car.
My first impression of the PSE on the 991.2 is that it provides a good compromise between the quiet and the loud. I do not find it to be outrageous, but just enough to satisfy the visceral driving experience. As noted above, at highway speed, the predominate sound I hear is tire and road noise.
I for one, do enjoy the gurgling sounds provided for in deceleration.
My summary recommendation is if you do not have to sacrifice other desired options to meet your budget, I would get the PSE giving you the capability of on and off at your control. As a side benefit, it appears that PSE is desirable to many in the 911 community and if resale value is part of your plan, then I believe it will be beneficial.
Either way, you will still be driving one of the best "driver's car" on the market.
Best of luck

Good post. I am coming from a Cammed V8 with long tube headers so I am worried the PSE actually wont be enough, but your post seems to suggest I will appreciate the new experience. Once I get closer to ordering, I will start test driving and hopefully be content with the PSE.
