Steering wheel shaking

Steering wheel shaking
Hey all,
So I took my 991.2 4s out in snowy / rainy inclement weather this morning - sottozero's on, to gym this morning. When returning to car, after about an hr, noticed steering wheel was vibrating and shaking. I thought I bent a rim, but then after about ten minutes of driving, it seemed to minimize. I am not sure if this was related to cold weather, snow on parts of the wheel or underside of car..., or if rear wheel steering system was impacted in some way. Anyone have any ideas? There was no drop in tire pressure...My sunroof started to squeak badly - but that is a separate issue...lol.

Just had this happened on our Cayenne S. My wife couldn't drive past 50-55 MPH before it started jittering like crazy. There was ice frozen inside the wheel, acting kind of like "extra" weights that put the wheel out of balance. A good wash should take care of the problem.

On my XC70's, when I get home, I always kick the ice out of the wheel wells that forms from snow compression..
I have not had ice in the wheels of the XC70's but I can see a use for a separate set of 'Wheel Woolies' to get into the barrel of the wheels on the C4S which are cavernous.

From my years in Colorado, I would experience this sometimes when there was no snow or ice but just deep cold. After a while sitting out in the cold, a tire can stiffen and develop a bit of a flat spot where it was sitting against the ground. As the sidewall flexes and warms the flat spot works itself out. Some tires are more susceptible to this than others. The other's suggestions are more likely the culprit, but just in case you see it without any ice or snow this is probably it.
