Auto Lowering mirror during reverse not working
Gurus,
Recently, I started noticing on 991.1 GTS that my left or right mirror (depending on which is selected) no longer auto-tilts during reverse. I have tried:
- resetting to factory settings, and reselecting auto-lowering option in PCM
- manually changing mirror angle (which works)
Any other suggestions on what to check? Or is it time to take it into the shop?

So let's take it fully step by step again. I know you've done several of these, but I'm not sure you've done all of them correctly. It's worth a shot.
1) Under Vehicle Menu, Settings, Lights & Visibility, Reverse Options, Lower Mirror: Confirm that "Mirror is lowered" is selected
2) Put the car in reverse, and while you have the car in reverse, lower the right mirror to the position you want memorized (this is adjustable, it remembers where you've left it up/down/left/right).
3) Leave the right mirror selected.
4) Hit the Set and Number you want to associate this saved setting with, or Set and 3 if you want it to be associated with that particular key.
Now starting with the car not in reverse, when you put the car in reverse, the mirror should return to the position you left it in when reverse was last engaged.
Note that if you don't lower the mirror into the position you want memorized while the car is in reverse, it ends up memorizing the normal position. I think when I last changed the memorized reverse position to be a little higher, I hit the "Set" memory buttons while the car was still in reverse with the mirror in position, so I'm 100% sure it should work that way at least.

Thank you for the detailed steps! I haven't changed the "set" settings in a while. Perhaps hitting reset on PCM controls reset it to non-lowered position (as described above). I'll execute the mentioned steps tomorrow. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Storm, it worked! Now I have a new problem in that the lowered mirror position doesn't reset to normal mode after shifting from R-->D. Same happens from R-->P as well. Turning the car off leads to returning to normal position. After that, Putting in R leads to lowering of passenger side mirror. But, subsequent shifts to any other gear don't result in a return to normal position (waited over a min after gear change to see result)

However, it will come up immediately if you switch the control back to the left mirror. (Sometimes it lowers when I'd rather have it stay up, so to disable the lowering I'll select the left mirror, even while still backing).

Oddly enough, the lowered mirror does restore to normal position once speed >20mph.
I recall that prior to "reset", mirror would come back to normal at the time of gear shift from R to either P or D. Not sure how the previous owner managed to achieve that.
