I like the duck if it's balancing out the sport design front spoiler. Gives the car an all around more purposeful look. Without the front spoiler I tend to like the cleaner lines of the standard spoiler.

I have the same car, same year. I chose Cup Aerokit. Like the duck love the Aerokit. You really need to do tail/wing and front bumper so all is properly lined up. I paid $4800 for the Cup Aerokit total with front bumper and rear wing. Had to have all parts painted, clear coated, Xpel covered, and while at it added Rennline mesh inserts. It comes to more than you are thinking. Not a low cost mod.

I am planning on keeping mine as I love it and don't feel inspired to change yet so it was not a difficult decision for me.

Did a car-swap drive with a friend and got to follow my widebodied waterfowl for a bit. The ducktail, while to my eye very tasteful from the side of the car, makes it look quite a lot more aggressive when one is sat reasonably low and directly behind it - almost like a broad, extended middle finger. I decided this was awesome, but do make sure you look at the thing from all angles to check that it's right for you.

In that list up above of the various parts needed to swap in a Ducktail, of course they say you need to replace the GTS grill with a standard grill. And did you notice the up charge? +$300. So the charge for the standard grill is $300, while the charge to go the other direction is $1800-ish MSRP for the GTS grill, and I think I paid $1200 or $1400 from Suncoast.

If you look at all of my posts regarding the duck it becomes very obvious I'm torn. I love the historical significance, hence the comment about the long hood. It looks great on the .1 and if I had a .1 i would be fighting the decision daily I'm sure. I would love it at times and at other times it would be a bit too aggressive for me. If I am being completely honest i don't like the aerokit at all (way too busy with the double spoilers) and I'm not really a fan of the wings and such on the GT cars, very subaruish to me, completely appropriate on the track a bit ridiculous on the street). As I said I'm getting older and my taste is becoming more subdued......

I could have gone either way regarding the styling. Now it's a must have.

I like the clean lines of the duckless car better, but as others have said, it's personal preference. If it was a no cost option, I would still take mine without it.

I'm a fan but while ordering my SA told me that it isn't good for resale. So I took his advice. Figured I could always add it in the future. Do agree with others that dislike the look of the standard spoiler when up. Looks like a distressed vehicle. I could go either way since undeployed it looks great too.

I prefer not to let resale value be to big a factor in my decision. Since I plan on keeping cars for awhile I tend to want them how I like which may not line up with what's most "saleable". I do agree that the standard spoiler can make the car look broken.

When it comes to dealers, there's always reasons why resale is bad on your trade-in!

It's your money, buy the car you want.

Things look up when you've got a duck.
