May 2014 I picked up my new C2S. At that time I asked my SA what happens to all the cool posters that are posted throughout the dealership. He said they take them down and toss them when new models arrive. I asked if it would be possible to save me one when they came down. He said he will see what he can do. I didn't think much of it as I didn't really expect for him to follow through on this. Fast forward 2 years, to the day, I get a call from my SA that they are taking the 991.1 posters down to put up the face lifted models. He warned me that the one they took down for me was gently crumpled up as that was the only way for them to remove it. I hopped in my truck and drove right over to pick it up. The decal is a massive 50" high by 150" wide. I spread it out on a couple blankets on my garage floor and went to work. Decal face down, little by little I pulled the sticky side apparat. 2 hours later the decal was flat. Another hour or so working it with a plastic slider on the wall and it was up! Now when open the garage door I see two 911's =) It turned out excellent with no wrinkles or tears. Super cool.
Great job! I did the same thing back when I had a 997. Even though the 991 has since replaced it, I still enjoy seeing the poster every day. (sorry for the crappy cell phone pic).
When I had a 986 SE550 back in 2004 I bought the 2 40x24 dealership posters for that model, plus a GTSilver/Cocoa exploded illustration, plus a couple of more dealer 986S posters for the Boxster Bay in the garage. Got them all on eBay for under 10 bucks each. Had them framed the same.
Looks great, I always feel a little ashamed when I see these clean, beautiful garage threads. Am I the only one with an unorganized, overstuffed garage? I have a 2 car garage that's stuffed with my lawnmower, snowblower, motorcycle, mountain bike, 911, wife' suv, recycling bin and some other goodies. I have to be super careful every time I park and open doors.
