Default Gt3 .2

I'm new here and I like to order a new gt3 .2
Talked to couple dealers and no one knows
Any specific dates .
And couple of them would take a 1000 to get on a list.
But they don't know.
Which I find funny.
Will .2 gt3 be a 17 or 18 car production.
Any thought would be great.

Big, big discussion in the dedicated GT3 forum. Much more info there.

If you can afford a new GT3 then you can afford 1k to get on a list. Typically the list contains repeat customers.

Step one, see the dealer where you have a relationship.

Step two, give them an interest free, refundable deposit.

Step three, if you don't have a relationship then call multiple dealers with significant deposit.

Once on the list you will get updates.

There really isn't any more science to it than the steps I just laid out and sorry to sound blunt but it's really not worth a discussion outside of those steps. We've had some discussions about bad service and expectations with dealers.... this is a scenario where good customers are taken care of and looked out for.

In reality the people with relationships that are buyers are already on lists... because of the mutually beneficial scenario between the customer and the dealer

Everyone is waiting for this car b/c of the possibility of a normally aspirated engine mated to a manual transmission. Best of luck in your quest.

I am so sick of waiting to see if I'm on a waiting list... Being given no definite answer to car spec, options and delivery that....I am off to try and hopefully buy a Mclaren 740s.. The whole Porsche buying saga has worn me out and taken the shine off buying any new Porsche...

Yes I agree with you 100 %
Seems like Porsche is doing this on purpose.

Totally. The process was so unpleasant with the GT4 I'm not ready to do it all over again for the GT3. A manual GT3 is really really exciting but the buying experience really sucks the joy out of it.

What exactly did you not like about the GT4 buying process? I am on a few lists too but it is my first time buying a Porsche this way. After I put my name and deposit down, it is just a waiting game, no? Or did you encounter hiccups as you got closer to building your car? Any insight would be nice.

not sure how it works in the UK, but in the U.S you give a dealer a deposit and they put you on the dealers waitlist (which is really the only one that I know of that exists) ... then its all down to how many cars Porsche build, and how many
each dealer is allocated ... AFIAK there is no national/global list (at least for cars such as the GT3, maybe different for the 918/R...) and options, build dates are not made public until the car is announced and available to dealers to order against
their allocations...

Unless you have an established relationship with a Porsche dealer already (bought cars from them, especially GT's), or a 918 VIP, chances of getting a .2 GT3 at MSRP are very slim.

The "lists" mean little with no guarantees. Each dealer makes up their own rules. It's a nice way to get interest free money for them in the way of deposits.

Want one? There will be a premium to pay.

The bigger the dealer, the more allocations they get. Small dealers with 1-2 cars already have them spoken for or like others, will sell to the highest bidder.

This car will be harder to get than a GT4 or .1 GT3 or GT3RS.

Don't buy into the hype and be patient. You'll get it and you'll get it at MSRP. Just get on a list at a couple of dealers, don't be in a rush and be willing to get it in 2018 or later and you'll be fine....

I agree totally..
A few dealers have been honest and don't want to hold
Cash when they really don't know how many cars they will get.
I'm ok on a later car that I can spec the way I want.
I found a couple that will hold the cash....I will jump on for the ride.
