They don't fit me even all the way out. They are not for every body type.

Same with me. I like a confining upper cushion, but need freedom in the lower cushion. My hips are splayed open a bit (when I walk it looks like duck feet) and therefore even standing with my feet straight forward and my legs close is uncomfortable. The 18 ways just have too much lateral confinement.

BMW's M3 seats are even worse and hurt my things after about 30 minutes.

I was looking for 18 way sport plus in exchange of my 14 way sport seats if you are still looking?

Same here, willing to swap my power heated (non-cooled) black leather seats for similar 18-ways (+cash) if anyone here is interested. 15K miles.

4-bolts to swap em if past experience with 997s is any indication...key is to make sure you have the same wiring harness.

It's really a personal preference thing, everyone will have their own opinions regardless of which seat. I chose to go with the 14-way after spending some time playing/driving with 4-way sports plus, 14-way, 18-way. My 911 is for street/daily use purpose and the 14-way offers me the most comfort and yet holds me in place good enough in many cases. Though, I will definitely choose the bucket seat in any of those GT series cars.

As for swapping from 18-way to 14-way, I think it's an easy job as long as you can source them.

I tried both and preferred the 14, the 18 felt great once in the seat and is probably the better choice if your going to do a lot of track events, but for day to day the 14 works better for me. Getting in and out became a chore with the 18. I'm 6' 215 lbs. but best way to decide is try it yourself....

I had the 18's and had issues after driving the car over a half hour. I tried both the 14's and 18's prior to buying the car. Thought the 18's were better. 5'10 165 pounds. Have had back problems in other car seats so was hopeful I would not with the 18's.

Fast forward, took a test drive in a car with the 4 way sport seats and they felt great. You sit down further in them
and to me were much more comfortable, strikingly so but of course they don't work with comfort access, or are even power operated. They did feel much better though.

Bottom line (pun intended), try them all before you buy if you can.

Rapture, you must have meant the 4 Way Sports Seats Plus, which are the same shape as the 18's, but seem to be more accommodating/slightly looser. I have them and love them. You really sit down in them.

The 4 Way Sport Seats are shaped like the 14 ways and you definitely don't sit in them IIRC.

OP, One thing that occurred to me today while I was out in my 18 ways is that I have "Comfort Entry" set. If you have memory seats then this is a setting that optionally moves the seat back and the steering wheel up (if you have the electrically adjustable steering wheel) for easier entry/exit. When I start the car they automatically move back into position. I'm 6'0 175 lbs and get in and out of my 18-ways just fine. I noticed as I slip in I only barely touch the side bolster. This made me think of your thread.

My point is, if a car you look at has 18-ways and Comfort Entry and entry/exit is your only concern, then I think you'll find the seats likely to be just fine.

18 Way All Day any Day.

At first I was hesitant since I had the 14 way first which are without a doubt comfortable in a luxury sense. I also thought the 18 way might not be as comfortable.

The 18 way adaptive seats however are great and comfortable in a sporty sense even for relatively long distances (5+ hours).

I always get immediate compliments on the Alcantara 18 way seats as soon as a passenger gets in.

My wife loves these seats over the 14 way and finds them very comfortable.

Having had both, I would choose the 18 ways all day long. IF you are swapping yours out and want to sell the 18 way seats please let me know I will buy them!

I think the OP just wants to know whether the 18 way are a plug an play replacement or there might be some programming involved to make them work.

Hi..being 6'3'' do you mind telling me your waist size? I am 6'1, 235 and 39 inch waist. I sat in 18 ways on a test drive and don't recall them being uncomfortable
