It's a little more than $60...don't ask how I know, hahaha!

For me, I just don't want to give them an excuse to pull me over. So on goes the front plate...

Actually, I have a different OEM bracket for mine since I have adaptive cruise control. Car still looks great, though, even with the front plate!

I do know that the dealership doesn't put the bracket on unless asked to do so.

Anyway, why do they need to see it anyway? It's not like I intend to break any rules of the road...

Been dreading this since I ordered mine in July. What to do about the front plates.
NYC is also 60 dollars a pop. My mother's Firenze Red Range Rover LWB has received 3 tickets since she got it in January 2015. Quite an inexpensive situation to be honest. I might hold off and see how it goes. The tickets were issued in Manhattan - and I cant imagine a blue porsche being any less "look at me" than a big red Rover.

My thoughts are - I'll drive it as normal for a few months without it. If I get more than 1 ticket for each month, I'll take it to have the plates put on.

I think we would all agree to pay $60 per month for a "permit" not to have plates on. More than that, we might feel different.

Live in NY. Got caught with no front plate. Fee for no front plate -- $75, Administrative Fee -- $55, Surcharge -- $25 = Total Charge $155. FYI - very, very expensive.

Not worth the risk for me, I live in a small town in the middle of San Antonio and the cops have nothing to do but pull you over for stupid stuff like that. Our dealer said they have a solution, not sure if it's a Rho plate.

Please share when you find out.

I was wondering if a sign painter could paint one on... make it look 3D.

I bought mine out of state and brought to my local dealer. They put it on, no cost (not that it was any amount of work lol) but asked me three times if I was sure...

(I should clarify, I bought the CAR out of state, not the license plate bracket hahaha)

I had a meeting downtown in DC today, returned to the car and found a ticket on it. No front plate, $50. It really bothers me that DC will collect a fine for enforcing a VA violation.

I was plateless because I had been using the Skene bracket which failed due to excessively high speeds at the track.

I ordered the Rho this evening.

Never say that. Mercedes Manhattan once charged me ten bucks to put the tire air valve caps on. My own caps. It was labor. Not parts. 2.50 per cap. You imagine that? Little twisting action like donald trump would do....and it was 10 bucks.

I made them take it off and they apologized. That was heading for yelp and social media pronto.

Holy cow!!!!!

I would have paid them to put it on (I didn't want to screw it up lol) but wow, charging for valve cap installation! Just wow!

I was ticked off. I also would pay to put the plate on....which I might do no matter what since I have personalized plates. Imagine what went through the techs head that put in those labor amounts 2.50 x 4 and justified it?

I was thinking of having a sign shop print up a vinyl license plate. What are your feelings on being ticketed for a vinyl licence plate? Wondering if I can get away with one or would it draw added attention by the police. Not sure so I figured this is a good place to ask.

I was quite pleased with the quality of the Skene Design front license plate attachment bracket. It is fully adjustable and the securing screws go up into the black plastic center opening lip. If (when) removed the holes cannot be seen without lying on your back in front of the car.
The plate location can be raised up or down and tilted.
