Hey guys, I usually never review anything but I’m really pleased with my experience and thought I would share. I took my car into Protective Film Solutions in Orange County, CA for XPEL since they are the closest shop to me and I had read a lot of positive reviews. I’ve always wanted to wrap my cars but never really pulled the trigger until now. I decided to go with XPEL Ultimate and Ceramic Pro 9H on the entire car since I plan on keeping it for a very long time. At first I thought I would only do the front but then didn’t want to go through the trouble of having to detail and polish the rest of the car every once in a while so I opted for entire car out of ease and I figured the extra protection can’t hurt.
The XPEL film itself seems to be well made and I can’t even tell its on the car. After thoroughly inspecting the car for any issues, all I could find were a few tiny bubbles that ended up going away after leaving the car in the sun for a few hours. To my surprise, they did a great job of hiding most of the seams so nothing is visible. I legit can’t tell there is anything on the car I’m looking for it 3 feet away and it just always looks super shiny and glossy as if I added several layers of wax and glass coatings. I was more familiar with ceramic pro than I was with XPEL since I had Ceramic Pro on my M4, but I feel like it makes the car even shinier than it would have been with only the XPEL and it seems dirt and dust doesn’t stick to the car anymore. I also love the fact that I don’t need to wax the car anymore. To compare, I have Ceramic Pro Lite on our S550 and after 2 years its completely gone and the S has swirls all over it, whereas my M4 looked brand new still with the 9H so I’d definitely recommend the full 9H over just the lite. Plus it will pay for itself over time since you don’t have to wax or maintain the paint whatsoever.
I definitely will put the wrap on my 991.2 4S cab which should arrive late Oct or early Nov. I have the expel and ceramic pro on my 15 Range Rover and still has that shinny look.
It was $3.5k and had almost the whole car except the roof. Nyc roads and parking are tough on the car. Also important is hiding the film seams around the edges.
Reason to wrap with xpel is that it prevents rock chips etc. But on top of the xpel you still have to wax the car and detail it etc. But by adding ceramic pro, the car will always have that freshly detailed look. Theoretically it will have additional scratch resistance because ceramic pro touts that as well but the xpel covers scratch resistance anyway. Reason to do xpel instead of just ceramic pro is because ceramic pro won't prevent rock chips while driving
So combining both prevents against rock chips, uv damage, tree sap, droppings, scratches, brake dust, and doesn't need to be waxed or polished
