I think this is pretty close but I'd amend it to:
Daily traffic-PDK
Almost all track-PDK
Daily with little to no traffic/weekend-MT

I'm a MT guy, 38 so I don't think its a generational thing either. I fall into the third category (daily).
I do wonder what % of the time PDK guys drive in "manual" mode.

I think the PDK people will eventually find themselves in a self-driving google car.

I have a manual and the dealer gave me a loaner with a pdk. It was the same year 911S as mine and I did not like it at all.

I had the PDK in my Panamera and for that car it made sense.

^This, from another 38 year old

I am in manual mode + paddles 99% of the time.

I would have gone either way (manual v PDK) on the C2S, but would lean heavily toward manual if we end up in the 'burbs and look for a weekend toy.

I really enjoyed the manual in my Spyder in moderate pleasure driving situations and I'd still own one but for health reasons, but for everything else I prefer the PDK, especially when driving aggressively in the mountains. I'm in manual mode 95% of the time, commuting or weekend driving. i find them both to be pretty awesome transmissions, but I find I enjoy my spirited driving more with the PDK given my ability to focus more on my driving and make instantaneous up and down shifts as needed. I actually miss the manual more, and desire it more, in everyday driving, I guess due to all the muscle memory.

Test drove a friend's PDK 991 GTS and no thanks, not for me. I also run long-distance road races and think that driving a sports car *should* involve some work. Yeah my left leg gets tired in traffic. But not as much as on mile 23 of a marathon. Manual for life.

Hi
just to clarifi, I had a 997 C2s with pdk
then The GT3's .1 and .2
And If the 991.2 GT3 had gearbox options I would probably still go for the PDK..

It's really about want you want out of the car. If you want a very fine GT, then PDK is great in a 911. I love it, especially when you begin to master the paddle shifting. When I feel the need for MT, I pull the Caterham Seven out of the garage!

I'm going to have to go for gold here and say 100%.

My PDK 911 shares DD duties with a 6M Wrangler; I probably use the Jeep 55% of days and the 911 the rest over the course of the year, because I tend to leave the 911 in the garage on rainy days if it's clean. I'm about to hit 9000 miles. The 911 is 100% used in manual with Sport+, unless I hit the interstate and want 7th gear, when I hit the Sport button.

I did put it in automatic about three months ago for a few minutes because I was going slow and had a phone in my hands getting directions or something in a neighborhood; kept having to bump the shifter with my elbow and remembered I could just put it in D. I was in Sport+, though, as always, and so it downshifted to 1st, since that's how its programmed. Scared the crap out of me.
