First off — "no go" on the gimp suit. Acoustically transparent was a requirement from the OP, and I don't think that thing has any ear holes. Bravo for the suggestion though.

Anything acoustically transparent and durable is going to be a similar feel to what's there now. I think that you're looking at the wrong element to correct. Find something to put over your knee for those AX days.... Maybe something like this:




Shouldn't be too hot in the summer - plus, you'll look like a pro.

Yes. That's even better than a knee pad. At my age people would EXPECT me to be wearing at least one knee brace.

I think if you look up 'first world problems' in the dictionary this will come up.

Yeah but this issue mentioned here still isn't as severe as those that suffer from a reduced redline, displacement and wannabe turbos. I know 991.2 lives matter and all so I try to keep an open mind...
