Default oil drips

Has anyone heard of having the oil pan replaced on a 2015-2016 991 due to "bad" threads. Or had an oil leak from the drain plug? My oil was changed for the first time 3 weeks ago. Suddenly last week I found an oil drip about the size of a half dollar coin. Dealer says "brittle" threads on pan are to blame & has changed out 5 recently ???

Sounds like you're dealer has brittle mechanics who man handle the drain plugs too tight and damage the threads of your oil pan.

I would say, "Oh, that's interesting. When will you replace my oil pan free of charge under warranty?"

I had the same issue with a new 2015 991. Dealer replaced plugs. No issue since.

This.

I use the L&N Engineering billet magnetic drain plug. The torque spec is only 19 ft.lbs.

They offered to replace the parts neccessary to fix the drip before I even asked.
All warranty. Just seems odd. Less than 5000 miles on car.
