Purchase Advise on a 2013 C4S
I'm considering buying a 2013 C4S from a non-Porsche dealer. It has 10 months of factory warranty left. Is there a way to add a CPO from a Porsche dealer and just pay cash for it? In other words, before the factory warranty runs out, can I pay to add a CPO and get the 2 years additional? Again, the place that is selling it is a used car dealership...no Porsche affiliation.
Also, what exactly is included in the Premium Package Plus?
thanks,
Mark

The short answer is no.
If CPO is critical, you could try to arrange for the current dealer to wholesale the car to your local Porsche dealer. Might be more trouble than it's worth.

I think the big items on premium plus are PDLS and 14/18-way seats.
More importantly, does it have Sport Chrono and Sport-PASM? Those seem like the big ones that are hard to retrofit later.
Don't worry too much about blowing $4k on the CPO, car is roughly bulletproof.

I'd get a PPI first though. Got burned to the tune of $3.5k on my 1st 2001 996 when I bought my 1st Carrera without one.

I don't think you can add CPO if you bought it from a non-Porsche dealer. That being said, with 10 months of factory warranty on it, I wouldn't worry about it.
I bought my previous 991S from a non-Porsche dealer with 22 months left of factory warranty. I had several warranty issues the first year or so of my ownership (it was 2 years old when I bought it) but the last year was trouble free. I would imagine that most problems would already have been caught and fixed under warranty on the one you are looking at.
You can also take the VIN and have a Porsche dealer run it to see what warranty work had been done previously. I did this to make sure it didn't have repeat issues that they were having problems solving (i.e. electrical).
My current 911S was CPO and I have three years left on the warranty. However, I don't anticipate using it. It's nice to have but generally the 991's have been pretty reliable overall.

I do not have experience with them (bought my S4 new), but Fidelty warranties are popular with Audi owners. The plans are pretty customizable and can be transferred if you sell the car, or you can receive a pro-rated refund.
I can dig up info if you are interested.

Only the original owner can get the extended 2 yr warranty from Porsche, prior to the car being out of OEM warranty. The car would have to be taken to the dealership and checked over for approval of the extra 2 yrs CPO warranty.
But when you trade your car to a Porsche dealer ( say out of warranty ie 6yr old car ) they can sell it CPO if the car qualifies. It then comes with the two yr warranty when its re-sold.
