MagicRat, great write up! Exhaust looks great and I'm sure sounds awesome.

Felix, have you tested these new tips for an extended amount of time on a 991?

The 991 tips get extremely hot. So hot, the powder coat job I had done failed. Went to ceramic coated afterwards which have a much higher heat tolerance. Around 1700 degrees. The rear engine and mufflers only being a reach away, heat the tips to a very high temp.

My concern, is the carbon getting discolored or cracking from the high heat. Others have done these tips for BMW, etc, but they don't get as hot. I understand it's a floating sleeve, but still have concerns. One of the other exhaust guys offer these tips for other models other than the 911's because of this.

Keep up the good work. Thanks!

I am glad you like them! We do extensive tests on all our carbon parts, the design work on these parts was laborious and took many hours. Our range is growing with one model at a time because of this.

The carbon is high temperature resistant and the metal work is designed to have a sufficient air gap to keep the part cooler. On other models, like the 911 turbo, we have incorporated a tail vented design for additional exhaust blown cooling.

With pleasure!
Felix

I have had the carbon tips on my Kline for over 18 months and they are still looking good.
I am happy with the exhaust, the sound is amazing.

Penn4S, How many miles on your exhaust over the last year and a half? Any concerns about long term durability of the exhaust itself, i.e. 100K miles?

I put about 6-7000 miles a summer on my car. So the exhaust has over 12,000 miles and is looking and sounding great. The sound is addictive and the Iconel is holding up as expected. I do not embrace the winter weather in my 4S as I have other transportation for slugging through salt and snow banks.

I'll post some pics and a quick vid of the exhaust on start up and with a few blips. As far as 100k miles, I don't usually hold onto my 911's that long but I have decided to keep this car for the long haul so we'll see. I don't expect the exhaust to wear any faster than an original would.

Just ordered a Kilne Inconel for my GTS Felix has been a pleasure to work with. Throughout the year + I have pestered him, he has always been most helpful and courteous.

I can speak about Kline and Felix. First class both of them. I have the Kline Iconel and have had it going on my 3rd year. Amazing workmanship and intoxicating sound. Loud when pushed, very throaty with deep growl, sounds like a Porsche should sound.
Felix was excellent to work with, really cared that I was happy with the product. You get what you pay for, Kline is the best.

hi, does your valve open after 4000rpm even when the PSE is switched off?

I notice IPE and Fi-Exhuast does that, it feels there is too much pressure that force the valve to open

The valves open when you mash the pedal a bit. If I'm cruising at 4k rpm with pse off they don't open unless I lean into it.
Magics write up is right on the button. The sound is loud when opened up but it's sounds right, somewhat sophisticated, like the car is meant to sound.
