need advice on replacing Rims/wheels
Hey Guys, So I am not a big fan of the current OEM stock wheels on my 2013 991 that I bought CPO last year. It is dark blue in color and I feel dark grey or black rims would look much better on the car. I have been looking around on google but could not find any dark OEM rims. Any advice on what is a good after market brand? also is there any borscht marketplace where people exchange wheels? Currently I have the silver 20 inch wheels that come stock with he car. Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks

I would stay with OEM wheels. If you like your wheels except the color, they can be painted. If you have the S wheels, note that they are the lightest (good thing) of the 991 20" wheels. Suncoast Porsche puts wheels on sale. I think they had some black Sport Design wheels recently for sale. They were a great buy if you like the wheel. Good luck.

HRE, BBS, Forgeline to name a few if you want to go aftermarket. Keep in mind you get what you pay for. Otherwise there are several OEM options available in dark silver (platinum) or black... or as mentioned just powdercoat/paint your existing wheels.
Personally I'm a Forgeline fan...

If you're looking to purchase a new wheel style and not re-powdercoat your current set, then we've got plenty of wheel choices to browse. I've put up a gallery with photoshoots we've done in the past with HRE Wheels on Porsche's, but I also have a Wheel Gallery with photos of all the wheels we have and examples of how they look installed too. Check both out if you need some inspiration

I did the Plasti Dip coating. I read several posts on the subject and many said make sure you put the coating on thick. I took the wheels off and used 7.5 cans to do the front, back, and barrels. Hopefully this will be reasonably easy to remove when the time comes.
I bought but decided not to use the gloss coating, leaving the finish flat. After a small test spot inside the barrel of one wheel, I concluded I liked the flat finish better. I did run the coating in a couple of places, but one has to look closely to find them. User error.
I probably will remove the coating in late winter or early spring, and I'll post again how that experience goes.
