It's an app called Portrait Painter. My 11 year old loves to play around with it.

To show post editing, especially for the subtraction efforts, it would be good to see the original alongside the final product.

The posterized and painting conversions are pretty self explanatory.

Here's a shot I recently finished. A lot of subtle work. For example, I outlined the "rs" in black to help pull it out from the grey cap.

Lucerne during European Delivery
B&W (obviously), crop, contrast/brightness, subtracted overhead street ornaments

Saratoga, Wyoming
subtracted electric utility lines/posts, removed some artifact around hood from shaky hand-held HDR photo
