Default One year oil change

I purchased a new 991.1S around the first of June. The car was built back in Sept. 2015. Being that it is one year old next month, I hope to have at least 1k on the engine, I'm changing the oil myself. Will I get a oil remind light at the 1 year anniversary of the build? The BMW sent a message to the dealer at 1 year.
Also what is the size (mm) the oil filter housing cap. I got the filter from Suncoast but they dont carry a wrench.
Waited a long time for this awesome machine and it is incredible. The place a real bonus.
Thanks all.

I suspect you'll get a reminder light near the 1 year mark. This can be reset with the Durametric Cable, about $300, or you can ask your dealership to reset (and see how much they charge you, if at all).

Maybe some helpful info in here:

Another one:

Looks like the filter cap is 36mm.

I took advantage of the LexVan deal at Napa for 5w50 last spring. I don't see it on sale now. Look at the ad, it seems like Valvoline may be the August oil. Am I missing something?

I ordered the Mobil 1 5W50 from Wally World at $22.95 a 5 quart jug. The magnetic drain plug from Dimple Products. Studied all i can find here and on 6speed. I did a trial run removing the cover and fans.
I think I'm armed and ready except for the light reset.
The dealer will probably charge $75. Rip Job.

Not aware the 5W50 came in 5 quart jugs. Are you sure? Make sure it's not 15W50.

Thanks. I ordered some online last night after seeing that you were successful in scoring some. All set to pick it up then find out that Napa's part number has changed. Guess what, the sale price does not apply to the updated number.
