Targa 4S Price
What would you guys pay for a 2014 Targa 4S with 4.5k miles? The car is a one owner and being sold by a non-Porsche dealer. It was traded in.
Ask is $118k
Black/Black
PDK
Bose
heated and vented seats, so standard seats
sport chrono
Sport exhaust
Park assist
Those are all the options I can tell it has from pics.
I don't think it has SPASM and I can't tell if it has keyless entry and drive.

The ask sounds pretty high to me. Do you have the VIN #? If so, plug it in the end of this link to see what the sticker price was and post that so we can use that as a guide. https://admin.porschedealer.com/repo...print.php?vin=

FWIW I paid 114k in August 2015 for a car with almost the exact same specs, 13.5k miles.
However, mine was CPO - something you won't get from a non-Porsche dealer.
You definitely want the CPO warranty.

Is this the car? http://www.napletonsastonmartinofchi...ecb07784e0.htm If so, with that mileage, it's very appealing.
Assuming he owned it for 2 years, the previous owner drove that car 208 miles per month. That's not driving! The car sat. And some say that's not good. So you need to check out the CARFAX (not autocheck). Also, take the vin to a local Porsche dealer and check whether or not the car was serviced regularly. This is not a lease return so the owner bought it outright and he might, then, have bought the Porsche extended warranty for it. Check with the Porsche dealer to see if the car is on extended warranty purchased by the previous owner.
Since, per the ad, the car had an MSRP of about 138K, you'd be getting 20K off MSRP. IMO, a fair deal. If everything else checks out, you'd be paying a premium price; but, you'd be getting a premium car.
What would I pay for the car? It's black, so, I wouldn't offer on it.

That's the car.
Good to know about SPASM and that option not being avail on Targas. Or is that for AWD?
Im not worried about the low mileage. IMO and experience, 9A1 engines have been solid.
Also good to know the car is/was a Targa launch car.

According to DerekS, for basically the same car with a few more miles and a CPO warranty, he paid $114K a year ago.
In January of this year, I paid $112K for basically the same car, but mine has full leather, has the CPO warranty and had 1800 miles on it when I bought it.
Because of the additional time lapsed between our purchases and yours, and the fact that yours does not have the CPO warranty (a $3K value), I'd put a great price on this one at around $105K and a good price at around $107.5K-110K.

Was there a trade involved in either deal you mention?
To me, you're stretching reality by characterizing a car with 13.5k miles on it (DerekS) as having just "a few more miles" on it than a car with 4.5k miles (3Series). The difference in that mileage is close to a years worth of driving. That alone makes them different cars.
Also, IMO, to make your two comparison a bit more convincing, you'd have to be able to say what the MSRP was on both cars as well as their in service date.

I did have a trade, so I guess the sales price on its own doesn't help much. And I agree that low miles count for something.
