991.1 air conditioning and blower fan question
Hi everyone,
I have a new 2015 991.1 Cabriolet with 2900 miles on it. When the AC fan is set to 1,2, or 3 bars and the top is up to cut out road noise I can hear the fan making a noise like is rubbing or not seated properly. At settings higher, the blower noise overpowers the squeaking/rubbing noise from the fan. Has anyone experienced this? Is this something that might be covered under warranty? Is it worth having it looked at? I hate to take the dash apart because I feel that things never go back together properly. It's quite annoying and loud enough that people have noticed it over the phone when connected.
The other issue I'm having is the AC never gets really cold. It's especially noticeable on 100 degree days with the top up and the right side of the car (vents) seem to blow much warmer air than the left. Any chance this is just normal? Do these cars have issues with the AC?
Thanks in advance,
Eric

I have a 2016 991.1 GTS cab and I have no issues with the AC. It is remarkably quiet and it gets quite cold when I ask it to. I would get it checked out under warranty for sure.

I have the intermittent fan noise (squeeking) when the outside temps are 50F or below. I goes away as the fan motor warms up. Took it to the dealer but they were never able to duplicate it. I'm out of warranty now but it's noted on my vehicle history. When it finally fails or does it all the time I'll take it back to the dealer. The AC will freeze me out with enough time in our Texas heat.
