Moving up to the 991 - My "new" C4S
I've been perusing the 991 forum for about 3 months to help gather info on what the "right" 991 for me would be. Thanks for all of the great threads! I've seen a lot of names from folks that have must moved up from the 997 forum before me, it's been good to see some familiar "faces".
Last weekend I picked up my new-to-me 2014 991 C4S in Salt Lake City and had the great pleasure of bringing it to its new home in Austin via the long route through the Utah and Colorado mountains with a taste of wide-open roads in New Mexico thrown in. It was a fantastic drive!
I was lucky enough to finally spot a car that had all of my must-have list and pretty much all of my would-like list. It must have been optioned by a real enthusiast, I wouldn't be surprised if it was someone on this forum.
After having two 911s in silver I decided to go with Agate this time. She has PDK, PDCC/Sport PASM, PSE, Sport Chrono, Sport Design steering wheel with paddles, Premium Plus with 18 way adaptive seats, Park Assist, LED headlights PDLS+, full leather interior, Bose, glass roof, and new rotors, pads, and tires. Woot! And I don't even have to change the running lights to clear as was the old rite of passage for 997s. It's great that the S included dynamic engine mounts too so I don't have to fiddle around with engine mounts again.
I still haven't discovered any understeer and I understand the torque vectoring and PDCC are helping there a lot. The sound is much more awesome than my 997 was even with its Sharkwerks bypass and PSE. The engine note is much more exotic somehow when the new PSE is on, even before considering the crackle. In my opinion, Porsche really got the sounds right on this one.
As is standard procedure, here are some pictures. I saw the sky and countryside looking just right in Colorado shortly after cleaning off the bugs in Grand Junction and heading south towards Ouray. That drive past Ouray was awesome. Fortunately I hit it early in the morning before it got too busy.
And finally I made it home!

Thanks everyone! This is clearly the best 911 yet (for me at least, I know this can unleash all kinds of arguments). It's great to be here and I hope to be able to provide some meaningful input while benefitting from the wisdom of this group. Hopefully you guys will tolerate my normally long-winded posts... but I'll try to make sure they are concise and thorough.

Thank you everyone!
I imagine we'll meet. I'll keep an eye out for your car at the next one I make it to. I guess I might get odd responses from other locals if I ask the wrong person if they are the "Austin-Guy".
And thank you for providing me with the detailed VIN/build report on 7/28 when I was investigating the car. Well worth the $10 and a rapid response too.
