Anyone tried Techart paddle conversion for PDK button wheel?
#17
Getting close to pulling the trigger on this one way or the other (and haven't ruled out going nuclear and buying the 991.2 GT Sport wheel without MF). One more question: how do the paddles attach to the car? Do they basically stick on the back of the existing buttons, so that when you pull one you are effectively making a pull action on the button, but the buttons are rewired so one shifts up and one shifts down?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I had my dealer install the paddles.
Pros:
- Keep heated steering wheel function, a must have for me owning a cab
- Less expensive keeping my CF / leather wheel matching existing interior
- Real paddles
- Works flawlessly
Cons:
- My biggest gripe is that these paddles are painted plastic. Feels cheep, looks cheep if you look closely
- Not OEM
it's a tough choice. Give up CF / leather and heated steering wheel for OEM paddles? I am still torn on this one.

Can you tell me - do the paddles move the buttons when you pull them? Are they just attached to the buttons?
The cheap feel is a concern for me. Tbh I think Techart in general looks a bit cheap and try-hardy (sorry), but I do so love my multifunction. That said, steering wheel is such a crucial connection to the car, paddles included.
Genuinely undecided!

It's so hard! Seriously. I don't think you get the two-paddle neutral thing.

The paddles use both of the rear button engagements on the steering wheel so you have the OEM switches working for you. There is a slight wiring modification on a couple of wires inside the wheel which modifies the operation to that of typical paddles.

Very interesting indeed for those wishing to keep the OEM wheel and MF controls. So undecided.

I am erring towards the Techart at the moment. Been driving the car a lot recently, and do just really like not taking my hands off the steering wheel. Waiting for a quote on cost...

my .02 - get the sport steering wheel with the factory paddles!
I tried the tech-art conversion at the dealer, and I could never be happy with the looks or the feel of them.
my sports steering wheel in alcantara is my best invested money into this car by far over the MF wheel.

I was going to go the tech-art route but rewired my MF wheel to act like paddles (pull the right to shift up, pull the left to shift down, deactivate the push buttons: http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/9...ml#post4328530). Couldn't be happier and saved a buck.

I had the MF steering wheel on my C2 cab. I thought I loved it because of the volume functionality until I spec'd my C2 cab GTS with the SD steering wheel (as per my fellow RL'ers recommendation). What a difference! The SD steering wheel looks better in my opinion and there is no comparing the metal paddles with the annoying plastic buttons. I vote for the OEM SD steering wheel.
