Thanks for the tip! It's going to be for the new Panamera though.

It doesn't sweat that much, but I'm also concerned with oil and grease. I have looked up a pair of $100 driving gloves just in case.

I had one in another car and disliked it. Too hot in summer, too slippery and gets scratched up with rings.

I'll use public transit before using driving gloves.

Indeed they're not meant for everyone only for people with sweaty hands and good taste

Ditto here -- wife has a GC Overland with wood wheel. Looks great after 5 years. But we're about to trade on a MB SUV and I won't mind loosing the wood. Just not my bag. But honestly, no complaints from me winter or summer.

re: Driving gloves. I started wearing them in the 80s and have always worn them. I wear them in my Wrangler, my old 68 Cadillac convertible, my sportscars, and my wife's SUVs sometimes (long trip or very cold weather). I just like the way a good pair of gloves feels, summer or winter. It also has the side benefit of keeping oils off the leather.

We purchased the CD w 47500 miles on it. Not a mark on the wood or leather part of the steering wheel. Looks new.
My wife wears ring jewelry. It makes contact sound but again I see no wear or scratches. This feature is one of the "luxury" aspects that we love about her CD. Get it!

IMO wood belongs in a luxury car, not a sports car.

Same site I was looking gloves at! I like their crochet ones. Would be nice to wear on a warm day.

Have to agree. The Sweetgum Wood Steering Wheel kinda goes well with my config for the Panamera. Makes it look more luxurious. Great you were able to find a CD in pretty good condition Definitely getting it now. Also getting some gloves just in case.

The new Panny is kinda a cross between a luxury sedan and a sports car. Would rarely be driving it aggressively anyway. I'm more into leisurely drives.

Oh right. I forgot you were asking about the Panny not the 991. Not so out of place in that case.

Yeah. Sorry I started this thread on the 991 forum. Just figured the 911 people would have a better knowledge of steering wheels.
