I have an E class coupe with all the bells and whistles. The automatic braking turns on when I don't want it to. It also never turns on when I thought it could've been useful. Drive safely and use the money you saved on a beater Subaru with Eyesight on the days you think you're going to be careless.

Trust me, I drive my cars, I have 42 k miles on my TTS in 2 yrs.
I agree, if your cars is a garage queen, weekend date car, do waste your money. If your in rush hr, traffic jams, etc a lot get it. Bumper to bumper I must admit you can text easily!

I had the adaptive cruise on my 991.1 and would recommend it. Much better than regular cruise control for long distance drives, no need to brake for a slow poke. Makes sitting in stop and go traffic better too.

Would certainly have gotten it on my 991.2 but I decided to get a manual transmission. If you are getting PDK there's no downside (other than price of course).

I had the warning display in the instrument gauge to brake a few times. Never had the car automatically brake...not sure this is included in the system.

In my Cayenne, Porsche safe (which uses the ACC system) is not intended to brake for you. It only pre loads the brakes. You still have to do the braking. It is just a safety feature, not a nanny feature.

I found the ACC extremely useful for long distance driving. Even then you still have to vary the follow distance from time to time just to go with the traffic flow. Bottom line, very useful as a dd, not so much as garage queen
