Why would one want to consider this? It doesn't make any sense at all.

Sorry for any confusion I just want to know if its possible to fit 20" wheels on a 997 is it just a bad idea because of the ride - lock in turning or rubbing?
if so I will just stick to the 19" Turbo CL' I've got in stock.

I have CLs as well on my GTS. No issues. Had the car 3 years. Not sure what all the ranting is about. I agree with C-Gio above, if i had a flat I would call Roadside assistance for a flatbed anyways, I am not trying to change tires on my 100k+ car on the side of the road myself. Mounting and balancing summer tires from winter or vice versa is about 250-300 bucks, twice a year. I don't have another set of wheels so I wouldn't do it at home anyways even if I did have 5-lugs. And personally, they look stunning. My car sitting next to an S recently and I was trying to figure out why mine looked so different, and I came to the realization it was the look and design of the CLs that allows an uninterrupted flow of lines even through the wheels, not to mention they are lighter and stronger than 5-lugs.

That being said, no, I wouldn't try to change 5-lugs to CLs - that is too much trouble and not worth it.

I think that your historical usage justifies CL's. There are some of us that must take off their wheels several times a month and at the track. If this was your intended usage, you might see things a bit differently.

I had knockoffs on my BB 512i and had a 660 ft lb torque wrench, which I purchased after using a hammer per factory for a couple years - no fun and scary near painted aluminum body panels. I work on my cars so I have plenty of tools and a lift.

If I were changing rims/tires often I don't understand why anyone would think taking off 5 lugs is faster than one. Of course if your just zipping them on and off with a impact gun, okay. However that's not torquing them correctly anyway.

Just saying If someone wants to swap their centerlocks for 5 lugs I can be persuaded. I have 15 carrera S w/ 20 inch rims.
