Default Satin Black Sport Wheel

Decided I wanted to get rid of the silver color on my sport PDK steering wheel. I had done it on my 997 (mt) but doing it on the 991 PDK is more complicated because of the paddles. First step was getting the horn ring and paddles off which is not easy. Thanks to plenum, he found me a set of how to pictures from MAcarbon but appeared above my expertise. The dealer didn't want to try it. I then called MAcarbon and talked with John (president) and he was great. He sent me the parts I needed to paint off another wheel, then I took to painter, painted the parts satin black, took the wheel off my car, then sent John the painted parts and my wheel. He then swapped the parts, then sent my painted wheel back to me. I then put it back on my car. Seemed like a long process but he does this all the time using carbon fiber. As John told me, it's not a easy thing to do and wouldn't suggest doing it myself (unless you have a skill set like plenum and others here &#128513 John at MAcarbon was awesome, as we talked several times trying to get this done with overnight shipping etc. All said and done it turned out just like I wanted. Can't say enough about John at MAcarbon, he didn't have to do this because he does only carbon fiber. Hope you enjoy the picture.

Nicely executed

Compliments your white C2S and black accents well.

Very cool, I like it

Maybe some color inlays might be neat as well...

Nice. I wonder if it could be done in place with plasti-dip. Probably would leave the paddles silver, too, if I did that.

I like the original version as it goes well with the rest of the dash area trim.

Enjoy,

Enjoy,
My taste as well. I find the execution of the silver bits in the wheel and paddles to be great, but I understand the desire to change things from silver to black or black to silver, as I just painted my black wheels silver and replaced my silver engine grill with a black one.

Yes, I did change the center console trim to black leather.
Thought about white accents like the + and _ on paddles but decided not to. Now as you mentioned the silver on dash is in process to change to black leather. Silver looks kinda cheap to me. Ha will have enough silver around just the vents when I get done. Can't change the silver strip and door pull on doors. Fun stuff. Thanks for comments guys!
