Fresh 91 without Ethanol? Or 93 with, that's been sitting?

Where I am, it's hard to find 93. BP still has it, but the only BP stations left here are the sketchy ones they couldn't sell. So I can get fresh 91 from the local station that's busy all the time (and so goes through their gas supply more quickly), or get 93 from a station in a part of town where nobody would buy 93. I have no idea how fresh it is. But that's what I've been doing.
Wait, Minneapolis is a yuge town. You can't find fresh 93 octane? I agree about the "fresh" part, always buy the highest octane you can from the busiest national brands.

I don't see a huge problem with autos, the eth gas is not a good idea with boats and their large fuel tanks that attract moisture. Small equipment can be ruined because of not burning all of it out. I usually drain my boat tank (a 105 gal tank) and put the gas into my truck every spring before I take it out-it will burn that gas no matter what. I long for the good ole days of 100% petro with only a dime's difference between grades (price diff).

If you ever get up to New Brighton, Beaches Service (2551 Long Lake Rd.) has Sunoco 100 octane at the pump.

I have the same like 30min from home. Make sure it's unleaded. Like $6+ a gallon though. Fun sometimes as I can feel the difference.

Your engine compression is good for 91 and 93. Go for better MPG, the 91.

Nice! Makes sense. That's a big hot rod area.

Thanks everyone. I'll expand my search perimeter.

This just in: 20,000 mile service (sans oil change, which I do right before winter storage) was only $264. Could be worse.

I'm in Florida ( Pensacola ) and I bought the car in St.Louis from a great SA named Joe K. He did not let them even drive it get the tank filled. I didn't want to drive it home in the rain and the possibility of hail. Rented a car and drove home. 1500 miles in less than 2 days, brutal.
They even paid the shipping cost. The car arrived last Saturday afternoon which was also a rainy day along with sunday. Busy until tonight so jumped in and went the gas station. About 50 mile it now. Truly an amazing machine.

The choice at the pump was non ethanol with a 89 octane rating or 93 with ethanol. I went with the non. Maybe some octane booster.
What are your thoughts and which would you have picked. The car is just an "S".

The other thing is what is normal oil temp when warmed up and normal driving.
Mine was 218 - 220 degrees.

Thanks in advanced.

thanks for all the imput. I glee from the responses that I should have gone with 93 enthol. is a small amount of octane booster a good ideal or just burn it out. Is Shell top fuel really enthol free? First I have heard that.
I will use Shell from now on. Heck the Bimmer manual recommends she'll anyway.

Yes 93.

Don't waste your money on octane booster. Top up your tank every 1/4 drop for a few weeks.

Shell's 93 octane is NOT 93 ethanol free in the USA.

Is there a race track near by? They might have 98-100 octane to top off with. Just make sure lead free. Some local gas stations also have race gas.

Anyone familiar with VP Racing Fuel. It's the only non-corn 91 fuel available nearby to me.
