Default GT Silver 991.2 Has Arrived

Picked up the new car today. I'll give you a report on my 90 mile drive home from the dealer. But first, some pics. Please pardon the errant finger in the upper left of some of the pics. The anticipation of driving the new car overwhelmed my photographic expertise.

Beautiful. I am very interested in your review of the manual gearbox. I have a 991.2 C4S coming within the next 2 weeks with a manual gearbox. I have heard very few reviews from actual owners. My personal comparison will be with a 1992 Acura NSX, 2000 Audi S4, 2007 Porsche Turbo and a 2015 VW GTI. All manual gearboxes that I really loved.

Very nice. Really like. Are those wheels paint to match exterior? Love the red leather and red top. Model delete looks great. Clean.

Thanks. This is my 3rd manual 991, and my wife drives a manual 997. I prefer the actual shifting action and lever placement in the 991 to that of the 997. On that front, the 991.2 is exactly the same as my .1. However the amount of effort needed to depress the clutch on the .2 is much less than on the .1. It engages in a similar fashion, but it's much lighter. After a few miles I got used to it and I now like it better. As a pretty serious runner, I'm always worried about tweaking something in my leg that will affect my running. Constantly depressing the clutch with my left leg tends to do that from time to time. A lighter clutch is welcome.

Thanks. The wheels are the standard Carrera Sports that are partially painted in platinum. The wheel color is a pretty close match to the GT Silver body. I didn't order them originally because the don't look great on the configurator. When I saw the pics of Vivekg's car with the same wheels, I changed my order at the last minute.

Wow. That top and color combo are amazing. Make sure you park it so as not to get dinged up. I came out tonight from the gym to find some hillbilly p/u truck backed in - seemed about a foot away from my drivers side door
