Help me decide on 2nd/wife's car...

I have to second the suggestion that you look at the RRS. We are on our 5th Land Rover since 2010 and have had zero substantive issues. I've had more maintenance issues with the C4S than any our our RRs. I drive the full size, she drives the Sport. Very fun to drive.

V60, Polestar if ya can find one. It is mainly my winter car. It's fast, its got great handling, its practical for hauling stuff, and its got all the Volvo safety stuff. Plus if you pissed your wife off she can't use it as a weapon, it has an auto-detect system that will brake if it thinks its about to run over somebody. The dealer had a manakin set-up in the lot, and told me to try and run it over, it would'nt let me.

Wife has an SQ5 (which is essentially wasted on her, but oh well). I drive it when the last x miles to a trailhead are gravel/dirt. We've also taken it on a couple of 1000+ mile trips. It's not a Macan Turbo, more equivalent to the Macan S. Sub 5s 0-60, very solid and significantly cheaper than a comparably equipped Macan. Ask your dealer for one without a cheat device.

My dream car was 911...done. So wife's turn--she's always wanted G550. Done! All is right in the world. Other than our car payments are about what most folks pay for mortgage. But we make it work and are very happy!

We bought a '17 Q7 (after trying the smaller Q5 and SQ5, she didn't like the looks of the Macan). The 7 is far ahead of its smaller brothers in every way...though the new Q5 coming out will get that back in line I'm sure. I just had a current Cayenne as a loaner for my 911 and I did not like it at all. All around the Audi newer version with the Q7 is a better package in every way to me at the moment. Interior, engine, suspension, tech, open feel. Rear space and access is fantastic. It handles flat...not truck like at all compared to its cousins. Several other guys I know that did the same switch to a different SUV went the same route and are very happy as well. We traded in an RS5 for the mommie mobile but happy with it. S7 is a fantastic package for a 4 door, or S6 or 8. As said above the Allroad but may not quite be as big on the interior as you would like. Any of them over the last few years have been great cars. Incredible engines. Miss my RS7 but need a smaller nibble car for my long as 70 mile each way commute.

I got one of these as a service loaner when my RS5 was in the shop about a year ago. Expected to be underwhelmed, but boy was I wrong. I loooovvved driving this thing. Decent power, nice looking, but what blew me away was how easy it was to drive and how comfortable it was. Great visibility, nice handling, super comfortable without being floaty. I was shocked. Went home and tried to talk my wife into trading her Q7 in on one, but she won't have it. We hate the Q7, but she doesn't want to swap cars again and she's soured on Audi. And now they've gone and made it ugly, so I think the chance has passed. I recently considered buying one of the last remaining outgoing body styles at a discount, but eventually decided on a Tahoe instead.
