Bay Area Porsche Dealerships for Service
Hey all,
I am relocating from DFW to the Bay Area next month, and need some recommendations (and/or warnings!) about service experiences at the local dealerships.
Also, if there is a known "indie" mechanic for doing simple things like tires/brakes, I'd welcome that recommendation also. (I use RAC Performance for this kind of thing in DFW.)
PMs are welcome if you want to share something non-publicly.

I've have good experiences with both Stevens Creek (primary) and Sonnen (secondary). Also had good experience with Carlsen years ago, but nothing recently. Sonnen messed up something they did for me, but they made things pretty much right. Very stand up folks and, while SC is my primary dealer, I'd use Sonnen again in a heartbeat.

sonnen and fletcher jones imho
not so much carlsen and rector
u hv put this query on the 991 board, so i am assuming u are talking abt servicing a 991 or other modern porsche
whole different conversation for air cooled cars

To me it's all about the relationship you build with your SA. I had multiple Audis then eventually a 981 Cayman and now my 991 and always used the same guy, Roger Gray at Rector. They have been super awesome with me.
My last visit I had rattle noises coming from the rear of my 911 after a techart spring install. One of their techs hopped in the car and we drove over some speed bumps and he identified the noise. I was also up front about my aftermarket parts. They covered the repair under warranty and performed the PDCC reset, post spring install at no charge.
For indie shops for standard work like oil changes brakes etc, I really like The Stable and Metric Motors in San Francisco.
