I would describe it as a faint gas smell, not heavy.

No white oil smoke on the new engines at cold startup either, or very little.

The SA at my dealer, knowing that there was no light came up, thought the car was normal and did not want to look into it.

I am now confused. Some said they all do that, and some said it is not normal. Maybe I should check with another dealer.

Good luck getting a dealership to do anything without a fault code.

They're so hyper about emissions nowadays that you'd probably get a code if something were wrong anyway. Emissions warrently is longer than the normal one too.

That was exactly what my SA told me, if anything wrong with emission there would have been a warning and a fault code. Since I told him none, he did not bother to have technician look into it.

Come to think of it, one of the fuel pumps---I think there are two on the 991--was replaced about 3 months ago, I have no idea if it could be related.
