Default Service cost variances

Just a heads up -had my first service done on my 15 Carrera S. Got prices from 3 dealers and the price range was from $350 to $650. Same service, all within 100 miles of each other. Wow!!

Wow $650 for basically an oil change? I think Niello in Sacramento charges $320 and I paid $280 last time with a holiday discount... they're probably way more highly rated than any LA area dealership as well.

Never saw anything as high as $650. Pretty outrageous.

Save a bunch of money and do it yourself.

Find the local independent shop for routine service, go to the dealer for warranty work.

There are several long time independents in Orange County, presumably in LA county as well.

I am taking my '15 C4S with 2,800 miles on it (it's been on the road for 14 months) for it's first service/oil change. They quoted me $405 for a '10K service' with includes the oil change. I have no idea if that is high or low

@ $99 they took a negative hit to get your future business.

If they did a good job I would use again in a heart beat.

Well it's working. Trophy Performance in Las Vegas, guys there are awesome and true fanatics. $99 oil change for any water cooled Porsche. The owner and lead mechanic was the head service advisor at Gaudin before opening his own shop. They also have an amazing detail shop built in the same building, been down there 3x and have seen two GT3RS and a LaFerrari being detailed.

I totally get using an indy on most cars but aren't you guys concerned using them on a 'new' 991 ?? I mean how many do they ever actually work on? Is it worth it to try to save a couple of bucks on a $100-$150K car? I LOVE saving money....but is this the correct way of doing it?

Been changing oil on many cars in my life and the 991 is far the easiest. No under tray to screw around with and filter placement is pretty good.

Trophy is a Porsche shop not a euro shop. They had a couple Carrera GTs being worked on last time I was there, pretty sure they know their stuff. I prob wouldn't want to take it to a random euro shop.

Because an oil change, brake flush, and cabin air filter change are such complicated and technical tasks that only highly trained technicians, using the specialized equipment found only at Porsche Service Centres can perform them?
