Default low on fuel..front wheels losing grip

Has anyone experienced this? I was on a spirited drive today and when I was low on fuel, I felt that the front end lost some grip when I was pushing the car hard through a few corners.

Well the fuel tank is in the front.

The manual advises you not to perform high acceleration maneuvers while the low fuel light is on.

What car do you have. I never notice this on my C4S.

Are you sure.....traction loss? Maybe it's fuel starvation and cutting out.

Would be less noticeable with a 4S since its AWD.

I'm sure it's a weight distribution thing with a low fuel tank.

I have a 2S. It was definetly a little traction loss. I front end drifted just a very small amount and I believe I saw the traction control light for a millisecond. Lesson learned, the 2S needs weight up front.

All 911's do. RWS helps some. Try trail braking into low speed tight turns. It changes the dynamics of the car. It's an inherent flaw. That's what makes it so special when exiting a turn. All that weight in the rear allows it to track out like no other car.

I definitely notice a difference on the track with fuel less than 1/4. I agree that the way to counter is with trail braking. My personal experience suggests that a session start with 10 gal works best.

+1. Remember my friend was given the option to add a lead bumper or lead weights to the from of his 1986 930. My we've come a long way.
