I occasionally have this happen to me, usually in shopping centers. I have a 981 Cayman S with PSE and always have it turned on so this may be the cause.

There is one place with a lot of shops that has a 90 degree turn where I downshifted before turning and this woman walking yelled "slow down!" just before I turned. I was really puzzled because I was going about 10 mph then it dawned on me that the downshift probably made her think I was speeding

Just curious where you guys live that are getting hassled? No one hassles me in my air cooled 911s, but I used to get dirty looks in my 997. Funny if an older looking 911 is more more accepting to the busy bodies than the newer ones. They might look at an older one with admiration and a newer one with contempt, not knowing they are worth about the same!

The speed limit in my neighborhood is 20 mph. I drive 15. In first gear with PSE on. Never have an issue. Plus, when I leave in the morning it is usually about 4:30 AM so no one is around. We do not have sidewalks in my immediate neighborhood, so you need to be diligent. I've always told my neighbors, if they see my car speeding through the neighborhood, don't get upset, call 911, because someone just stole my 991.

My choice is not to escalate, so I simply ignore them, even though it's a royal PITA. Without exception these folks drive Prius or Subi station wagons, and many have the ubiquitous "Coexist" sticker on their rear bumper, guess they don't want to coexist with people driving Porsche's.
Stop and hand one of them a Trump bumber sticker!

She and her posse also hang out in the 996 forum.

I usually get the "speed up!" As I slowly maneuver over and around speed bumps and pot holes trying not to spill my coffee in the ridiculous Porsche "cup holder." Lol

First world problems.

Two years ago our Cayenne Diesel was in the shop over the weekend for something minor. Lucky me, I was loaned a Boxster S for the weekend...woo hoo. So, the wife and I go for drive in our temporary drop top and she yelled out "why the hell are you going so fast?" She looks over at the digital speedo which indicated --- 30 mph...

And the actual speed is 3-4 mph below that (LOL).
