Default Agate grey interior?

Thoughts on the agate grey interior on a 991? Haven't seen it in person and the car is 3 hours away. Im undecided based on the pics - think it should look good but not 100%. Agate grey exterior too so could be too much grey?

It's pretty dark which is good. I like it.

Up to you on how you think it looks overall.

I love the contrast of it and the Geyser Grey exterior of the 50th Anniversary car.......might be too much for me otherwise (Agate on Agate). It also looks more brown to me than grey.

I have agate in my silver Macan and black in my agate 911. It's a great color (a bit softer than black), but I agree with oalvarez that it might be too much. I'd go with a black interior to get a bit of contrast.

My Targa is agate over agate. I love the agate interior. The combination is very elegant, but subdued (though a Targa can never be truly considered subdued). Not a fan of the black interior with the agate. Much too gloomy. If you want some pizaz without going too showy from the outside, I find the red interior excellent with the agate. Or you could liven it up with contrasting stitching.

I recently drove a GT silver 991.2 with agate interior. I found the interior drab and disappointing. It's pretty muddy looking. Maybe with a contrasting exterior, but too monotonous with agate exterior IMO. I love agate as an exterior color. (We own an agate Macan S)

Definitely will see it in person before deciding - just trying to figure out if it's worth the trip. Hadn't seen this before and not a fan of lighter interiors so good to know it's pretty dark. Thanks!

Love that combo too. Appreciate the feedback on looking brown - black being my preference that could be an issue.

Agate exterior has a very noticeable brown hue to it. If you're looking for dark and contrast, I would also consider espresso.

That's definitely one of my concerns. - being just too much. Thanks for the response!

Appreciate the feedback - the red does go great with the agate. Just a little too much red for me when it's the full interior. Black / carrera red though - definitely open to that! Fan of the contrast stitching too. Bet the targa is sharp!

You looking pre-owned??

I am a fan of black interiors. The Agate one to me was acceptable for someone that is always default black. I dislike light interiors too.

That's being said, I do like contrast in/out unless it's black/black.

Yeah think CPO is the way I'm going to go. Looking for a TTS and don't really want to take the immediate huge hit on a new one. I typically default to black interiors but do really like the black/red combo with grey exterior (what I have on my C63S right now). Like some contrast too but it does sound like this car is worth the drive to check out in person. Thanks!

I like very much the idea of a two color interior to break up the gray. Wasn't able to find a combo I liked, however. An agate/red interior would be excellent, but was not available as a standard color choice. The agate exterior is a little too close to black to go with a black/second color interior. In dim light the combination looks like a poor color match job. The agate exterior is tricky. On cloudy days it looks like a straight grey. Under incandescent light, or in bright sunlight, it has a definite earthiness to it. It's the only earthy car color I like, as I am usually a great fan of blues and blue/grays. But I love the agate. In addition to its appearance, it has the advantage of hiding grime very well. When paired with the gray paint on Carrera Classic wheels, you wind up with a low maintenance option. I much prefer driving the car than washing it.

My C2S is Agate on Agate/Pebble and I'm always surprised at how much of a difference lighting makes. What doesn't come across in most pictures is how much brown there is in both the paint and the leather. Note the brown highlights on the paint in the lower right and how closely it matches the leather in the same lighting:

The shaded area on the left shows how the Agate leather comes off as a grayish brown when it's not in direct sunlight. I agree with most people here; definitely see it in person and make sure to check it out in different lighting conditions.
