Default How Much of a Discount is $2500 Over Invoice?

Looking to buy a 991.2 Dealer has offered me $2500 over invoice on ANY 991.2 model. What kind of percentage off does $2500 over invoice equate to? 1%, 10% etc?

No way of knowing.

Just ask him what percentage off MSRP. A better idea if you're getting a deal or not.

That's ridiculous for them to quote that to you.

I agree. It's too difficult to figure out if it's a deal or not. I was hoping someone here had a rough idea.

10% separates MSRP and invoice.

Build the car you like and ask the dealer to give you his $2,500.00 over price. Now figure out how much your discount is between retail and his supposedly 2500 over price. If you like it, buy it. If you don't, shop some more.

if the margin is in fact 10%, back of the envelope $2,500 over invoice represents an 8% discount. Here are my assumptions:
assume average MSRP for a 991.2 is 120k, this means invoice is 108k, this means purchase price is 110.5k, which is 8% discount from MSRP.

as others have said, you need the whole picture to evaluate.... but in general, 8% discount on a brand new model is very good...

Thanks for the responses. I received an 8% discount on the 2016 we bought. So this $2500 over invoice falls in line with the last purchase. I'm sure our GT3 and RS buys played a role in the discount.
