The great California State Route 2, Angeles Crest Highway. I feel spoiled for it to be in my “backyard.”
Back in February I accidentally ended up on Angels Crest to I think Big Tujanga on my way to WSIR. Problem was it was 9pm ish, 35 degrees out and my car was loaded down with tires in the back seat. Probably one of the only times a Prius came up on a 991 and was like "go faster, you idiot." Was not a great part of my trip to Willow Springs...
Some day I'll run more of the roads north of LA - some good ones for sure!
A quick his and hers drive today to my wife's old campus, and visit "Passion Puddle" ... it was quiet today, and not much passion going on... The greenhouses at Cook College Overlooking Passion Puddle

Message me and we’ll set something up! Friday morning is the best to cruise up and hang out with the GVBC group at Newcomb’s Ranch.

@Wujohn can you tell me more about your roof rack setup? Looks pretty cool and practical. Thanks.

I got this idea from @arter; he runs the same tracks as me. It is the std 991 roof rack with the x-tray rhino rack. I can put two wheels on top and two in the back seat (it is tight) plus a lot of tools, a full size pop up, mid size cooler, tent, helmet, cloths and food for a weekend in my car. I have to rub a few of the items with Vaseline to make it all fit, but it does!

Love it; you are telling me to take a day off! It will take me a bit to organize myself since it is a long trip from San Diego. What time do you/the group typically leave?

@Wujohn Thanks for the info. I'll have to look into this. I will be buying a set of track wheels/tires and looking for ways to get them to the track. A local friend can help take them in his trailer but we may not always be at the same events. Bet you get a lot of weird looks on you way to the track. I just tried rhino racks website, they don't even list the 911 for fitment. Can you share some close up photos and model number?
What car was yours? I'll look out for ya next year. The weather was perfect and turnout was great!
Thanks for supporting our local PCA chapter by coming all the way from Virginia.
Mine is a GT Silver GTS, not nearly as special as your 50th anniversary edition. I'll be there next year. Wandering around the Porsche parking area alone is worth the price of admission!!

It's nice that you and your wife enjoy the Porsche! I needed to have my wife hooked on the same interest.

My wife caught the bug when we picked up a Macan S for her daily after hail destroyed her Expedition. She would never let me drive it.
Then I got a Carrera S and the rules changed. She "borrows" my C2S all the time and suddenly I am allowed to drive her Macan. I have a 718 GTS inbound and she is already starting to hint about her driving it when she doesn't "need" the Macan. On top of that she has built out a very substantial configuration for a Panamera GTS. LOL. Be careful what you wish for you could create a monster. I am going to need a bigger garage.
