We just kept going on Carmel Valley Rd from the 1. These photos were about 35 miles in from pch.
Destroyed my first road bike on CVR when I was stationed at Ft Ord (and yes, I used to ride out through the "backyard" training areas to sneak onto Laguna... awesome times.) Decreasing radius, off camber, too much guts/not enough sense. 25 years ago. Luckily I walked away... Beautiful Pics Everyone!

"Surprisingly"?? I guess I'm surprised that you weren't expecting great roads around Monterey, or just about anywhere in California. Very smart of you to just get away from all the crowds and just enjoy the car doing what it is supposed to do. Nice.
Not true, unfortunately, the Monterey area doesn’t have much in the way of great driving roads. Probably one of the worst parts of California for sporty driving. Good for cruising the coast, but not for really driving. Hence my question to see if there was some great road I wasn’t aware of.

Yeah, prior to Rennsport, I did some research on fun drives in the Monterery / Carmel area. Other than 17 mile drive and PCH (both of which I did and are absolutely amazing), I didn't find much. So when my friend suggested Carmel Valley Road, I said sure but didn't expect much. But it turned out to be amazing. I actually prefer it to the stuff I usually go to in Southern California (Angeles Crest, Malibu, Ortega, Palomar).

I don't comment on all the photos, but I really appreciate those taking the time to post them as they are a joy to look at.
Thanks! I just wish I had some photography skills and a real camera (these were taken with an iPhone 8).

Definitely plenty of places one can get in trouble on this drive. But the good thing about this road is that if you do crash, you probably aren't flying off the side of a mountain.

From this site. Renndecals.com. I wish the material was a little thicker, but for the price, it's a pretty good option.
You’re being modest, claiming that you have no photography skills.
Lol. The night time shots were taken by a friend with a real camera so can't take credit for those. As for the daytime photos, I guess it hards to take a bad photo with the great scenery.
