Instrument Dials in Black

Instrument Dials in Black
I haven't seen this mentioned and I am Fing Pissed. I have a new 991.2. Got it last Friday and today was heading out to get clear bra and window tint.
Nothing I can do about it now without spending more $$$$$ but damn. The tachometer face in the car is silver/gray or what ever you want to call it. It is not black.
So back on the configurator I go and see there is a check box for "Instrument Dials in Black".
Just looking a the pictures I ASSumed that the dials were all in Black. Why in the hell is it silver /gray.
If you order Bordeaux, yellow, beige or what ever color you get that damn color.
I am about ready to remove my oil fill cap and drive a new car under it.
Perhaps I will get over it but did I mention. I am fing pissed.
Thank for listening to me vent.

All "S" models have the tachometer in silver/grey as standard... I guess someone at Porsche thought it would look more sporty ... As you say, one can choose to have the tachometer in black for no extra charge by ticking the box.... The good thing is that after the fact you can still have the face dial swapped.... It will be a few hundred $... I'm sorry to hear about this... I have been following your journey with your order... Maybe one way to get your mind off of it, is to go for a spirited drive and enjoy the driving... Best of luck!!

My last 4 vehicles have had radar detectors and if I am driving them hard I have come to rely on the detector.
Anyway, the car is 150 miles from home getting clear bra, window tint and in two day radar/lazer protection.
Then I'm going to drive the **** out of it.
My sales guy is checking on the dial face. I figured it was a dial face. He told me it required a tachometer replacement. I didn't feel like debating it with him. I think now he might give folks a heads up on the Instrument Dials.

I don't think you need to replace the whole unit. I think you can replace just the face.
Here is a link to the whole set for the 991.1... I think it is worth finding out if you can buy just the tachometer face and not the rest...

^^^ correct. The easiest option. These are not factory parts though. No big deal, but just noting a point.
You can replace just the face with the Suncoast pieces which are aftermarket. A touchy change though. Only a pro should attempt it. Need to take it all apart.

I guess I can't say that I am surprised. I guess I might have to live with it but it's not like a pimple on your nose what will go away.
