Default Center radiator install

I live in Phoenix and with my 2014 C4S, during track days, if the outside temperature reaches the mid-80s, my oil temperature in sport plus, auto, reaches the upper 260sF. I have finally decided that the only way to fix this is to install a center radiator (yes, I know...I told you so). I do not understand why the 911 s do not come with a 3 rd radiator as a standard feature. I am also adding bumper grills at the same time (which should also come standard on all 911).

Because the 991 C4S is not designed to be a track car. Porsche has other 911 variants for that duty.

Looking good. Remember to paint your side radiators with some flat or satin black spray paint, now that you have easy access.

I have the center radiator with the PowerKit set-up. I've never seen oil temps above 232 in 100 degree weather with spirited driving in Sport Plus. But you're tracking the car. Whole different enchilada.

Your PDK generates a lot of heat, too. Don't know how that translates to your coolant and oil temps. Hope you're running a better oil than just M1 0W40.

I *think* TPC have an enlarged PDK radiator kit do they not?

I think if you are concerned about engine temps on track, you should also be concerned about transmission temps also, especially since there is no dashboard indicator of those ... you will only find out about it when the PDK barfs

FYI: The third radiator comes on all street 911's in the Middle East countries because of these extreme temps.

Quick question for STG and Lexvan - how is it that a coat of flat black paint - even a thin one - doesn't clog or reduce the cooling efficiency of the radiator ? About to make this upgrade too, so thanks for sharing.

Interesting I have no 3rd radiator or power kit. I have run really hard (2014 C2) at ambient temps ranging from 85 to 95 and never had my oil temps above 250F.

It's just a light dusting. Look at the center one he just installed. It's painted black form the factory already.

I don't think high 260's are that bad when pushing your car hard, especially with a PDK transmission.

I run in the 260s when outside temp is in 80s. In the 90s I get PDK faults which automatically send me in limp mode.

you really need the TPC PDK cooler then ... cheaper in the long run than trashing your PDK outside warranty
