Default PDK shift pattern change

For PDK guys,

If you could reverse the up shift and down shift pattern like the 991.2. Would you or are you very comfortable with the way it is on the 991.1?

I think most everyone would want to change it. I prefer the paddles regardless.

I've honestly never used the PDK shifter only the paddles. Doesn't make a difference to me which way it shifts.

Just replaced standard wheel with Sport Design and paddles but using the shifter sequence (back for down) seems natural IMO.

I'd switch...just to have the Porsche match our other two cars (BMW and a MINI).

I'm fine with mine the way it is. Push it forward to upshift; pull it back to downshift. I like using it..

While I do not mind how it is now (forward upshift, backwards downshift) I know that many wish it were the opposite and that racecars have it the "opposite" way. Just wondering how the racecar convention started - seems more intuitive to me to upshift by pushing forward and to downshift pulling back (usually in a manual car, the higher gears are obtained by shifting forward and the lower gears are obtained by shifting back or down).

I only use the paddles.

I assume it was done in race cars because when you are accelerating you are being pushed back in the seat and makes more sense to pull the stick back. Just a guess. Same for slowing down moving forward in the seat makes sense to push it forward.

More importantly when will they get rid of the fake key on the left and just have a button to push and put it on the steering wheel. Now that is a change I would like.

I have no problems with the way it is, but I use paddles almost exclusively.

The way it was explained to me is that it's supposed to go in the direction of the momentum the car is taking you. So when you go hard on the breaks into a turn you're moving forward and hence downshifting is pushing forward. Likewise when you're accelerating on say a straightaway you're pinned back and up shifting would be pulling back.

Frankly I'm surprised that porsche didn't get this right. I would 100% switch if it were possible.

Either way is fine for me -- I'd likely change if it were a cheap, easy software change. But the only reason I'd switch is because all other cars plus Porsche (2017+) do it "forward = lower gear" and if I wind up with another DCT car I'd just as soon they be matched.

Now what would suck is to have two Porsche PDK cars, one of each type. You'd initilaly be confused every drive, no matter which one you were in, and even when you got used to "today's drive" in the heat of battle you'd be just as likely to revert.
