Default PSE Parts

Let me preface this by saying sorry I know this has been posted before, and the topic beat to death...but. What exactly are the parts (part numbers) I will need to convert my C4s to PSE? Plan on doing the install myself with a very knowledgeable friend, and then having the button and ECU update at local dealer.
Also is there anywhere to get the parts a bit less expensive? Here on LI all the dealers think we are all billionaires. The quotes you get for parts and service are really ridiculous. There are a few indies here that are very good and a BIT more reasonable. Yes I know we own expensive cars, but that does not mean we should just except it and throw money away. Thanks

Call Sunset Porsche Parts and Suncoast. Have both quote out the complete bundled package. It's a very competitive price and discounted. Like $2.5K. Not bad. Comes with EVERYTHING!!!

You should be able to find a dealer do an install with no more than 5 hrs of labor. Ok, say you spend $2,500 on parts and $1K (at most) on labor, still good right??

Suncoast not long ago had the package on sale for like $2,200.00

Like I said, check with Sunset Porsche Parts in Oregon too.

My local dealers are rip offs. One charges well over MSRP!! These two places are the cheapest in the country.

Last week I needed (8) small parts. My local dealer wanted $75.00 each. I got them at Sunset for $38.00!!! Porsche MSRP was $59.00

Before you buy the PSE parts, make sure your local dealership will accept and install. You can also ask your local dealership parts department to price match. Worse they can say is no. Might be easier.

God advice Lex thanks. I will tell you they were less than thrilled when I showed up with my own Motul oil for an oil change. Service manager not the Techs. I do my own now and just get filter and crush washer from them.

Unless you buy the full kit from Suncoast or your dealer, you won't get the button, if that matters to you.

Too bad. I just showed up with over $2.5K of parts on my last visit (including NAPA Mobil 1). I know not the norm for most dealers. My SA could care less. He's not happy with the dealerships parts pricing either The pricing comes from up above at the owner level which he can't control. Short sighted in their part.

Exactly what I did. My dealer matched the Suncoast price and maxed out the labor at $950...less if they are more efficient.

Getting installed at the end of month when I flip from my winter to summer rubber.

They said " come in with the car I'm sure we can work something out". Don't know what that means , but I will go in and talk to them. I just get the feeling they will try To make it up on the labor. To be continued....

Sorry if this question has been answered before, but does the PSE add any power over the standard Carrera S exhaust? I'm guessing it does as it is part of the X51 and comes standard with the GTS but I wanted to check. Is there any weight improvement? Thanks!

No power increase. Probably weighs slightly more due to the valving and associated lines and hardware.

That doesn't make sense to me, as the standard exhaust has two valves just like the PSE does, and the vacuum lines are effectively the same.
