Tree sap and cabrio top

Got it. Quite familiar with Raggtop. Used it on our 981 BS, our C2s, and now our C4s. Also just did our friend's C2. A good Raggtop cleaning and sealing can take a top from dark charcoal to black. You don't realize the top is actuallygray until you do the treatment. FWIW I read somewhere that the Porsche product is Raggtop, just private labeled. Maybe just urban legend.

Regardless of the cleaning method used, my only caveat is to use care. Removing sap from a fabric is a challenge after it has dried, and the desire for perfection risks damaging it.

The 303 cleaner is the same for fabric or vinyl.

Has anyone had to remove tree sap from their cabrio top? A fellow PCA'er here in the NW has a small area about half the size of a little finger and located at the edge of the top above the passenger door.
We already got most of it off using heat and paper towels and a sacrificial microfiber rag. I'm hesitant to use solvents - alcohol, Goof-Off, etc. Any suggestions based on experience? I don't want to discolor the black cloth. TIA.
